Biggie and Tupac

How authentic would my blog be without sharing my passion for music?

BIGGIE and TUPAC...

I was happy to hear them mentioned in the "HAMILTON" gratitude speech at the Grammys. I am officially intrigued by Hamilton's Grammy performance including rap/ spoken word in historical context; The fact that the main character, ALEXANDER HAMILTON, (i.e. the great Lin-Manuel Miranda) of a broadway show, thanked two of hip hop's most groundbreaking great artists at THE GRAMMYS is groundbreaking in itself. It sounds like it’s time for Diddy to return to Broadway.

Good friends know I love to sing; Great friends know I used to love to rap. Rhyming fast in song form, allows you to pair like words and sounds in a flow that’s moving and energizing. I love platinum hooks with old school beats and tracks. I used to write and always kept my lyrics positive, playful and empowering. I’m grateful that my time living in New York afforded me studio time and ample opportunities to sing, freestyle and lay down tracks. I miss grabbing the newest instrumental mix tapes in Harlem. Music has the power to move you.

There’s a tune for every mood; some empower, some relax, some pump you up, some calm you down. Music is elevating and is also a great release and a perfect way to express yourself and expel energy. I love hip hop and rap. I also love classic rock, classical, country and diverse multi-cultural sounds as well. I LOVE MUSIC.

What fun or silly things do you love to do that you may be holding back from or sharing from others for fear of judgment? What makes your heart sing? I encourage you to do it all and do it now, without holding back. Just have fun.

When you allow your spirit to “go with the flow” of life, it will amaze you how creativity is able to flow through you, so rapidly and so dynamically.

KEEP YOUR WORDS AND LYRICS POSITIVE.

LET YOUR HEART SING.

LET YOUR TRUE AUTHENTIC SELF SHINE.
